Originally started in the sprawling Midwestern town of Kansas City, Missouri in 1922, the Cleveland Chiropractic College's roots were laid by the first presidents, Dr. C.S. Cleveland, Dr. Ruth Cleveland and Dr. Perl Griffin. Chiropractic medical practices encompass the study of the human spinal system and its effect on the nervous system and overall human health. Most people visit chiropractors after a car accident, after experiencing a spinal injury or even after overly heavy lifting.

Following a strict set of a mission statement, vision statement and core ethics of integrity, accountability, excellence, service, diversity, respect, collaboration, teamwork, innovation, creativity and well-being, the Cleveland Chiropractic College is one of the nation's oldest and premier locations for the study of the chiropractic healing arts and sciences.

History of the Cleveland Chiropractic College

The Los Angeles branch of the Cleveland Chiropractic College did not come into existence until 1951. Originally started as the Ratledge School of Chiropractic in 1911 by Dr. Tullius de Florence Ratledge, he then retired after 40 years as a successful teacher and doctor in the Southern California area. This school was then sold to and renamed as the Cleveland Chiropractic College.
